A word from my heart to you…….

You must have wondered why being a modern women of today, my heart is so much with God. Why do I emphasise much on prayers, whereas generally we find people at their last stages of life have all the time for God!

Well truth is, I have seen that prayer has the most dynamic power the world will ever know.

In this world we find primarily two categories of people. First kind are the ones, who ‘show’ they are prayer people, ‘pretend to be connected to God’, but are wicked to the innermost being. They are the ones who create much confusion, cause dissention everywhere they go and also love to live in chaos, because they do not understand the term ‘peace’. If they have to live in peace, they will have no interest in life, and life will be pretty boring for them, since chaos and confusions and gossips are their kind of life which they love to live. They do not know how to live otherwise.

Then comes the second category of people. These are the quieter peaceful kinds, who love to live in peace. These kinds do not ‘pretend’ godly, neither are interested in showing others how righteous they are. All they believe is doing things quietly (be it prayer, or charity or any other good deeds for mankind). These kinds refuse to live in ‘unrest’ since they have tasted God’s true love, and do not know how to live otherwise.

Now whoever you are, you are in either of the two categories. If you fall in the former one, it could be because of your surroundings, upbringing, or some sort of complex that developed in you as a child being around some bullies, or could be for any other complex reasons life offered you, since life isn’t fair to anyone as such.

If you fall in the latter category, it would be because, you are a witness to God’s goodness and His unconditional love and mercies upon you, or could be because of life’s challenges that brought you to the ‘throne of grace’ , brought a turning point in life, and you made a conscious decision in life never to look back but cooperate with God from here on and march ahead as a true soldier of God to win every situation in life, and also work as a ‘vessel’ of God to bless others and shine on for God that world may glorify your ‘Father in heaven”.

Now whichever category you fall in, your sins and mistakes are never too big that God can’t forgive you. But the decision will be yours. Since God gave us a ‘freewill’.

I happen to witness the fact that God uses the most flawed people as His ‘vessel’. I happen to be there. Entire Bible God used ‘flawed’ people to give victory to , and their names engraved in the ‘book of life’. For generations their names will be remembered and given examples about. God uses weak people. He doesn’t use strong ones, since they fail to ‘fill in the application of God’ as a contender , Proverbs 16:5, ‘The Lord detests all the proud of heart. Be sure of this, they will not go unpunished.”

So if you feel you are weak and flawed, you are the right candidate to be ‘used of God’.

Do you want to be used of God?

First step would be to ‘repent( turn or return)’ of all your sins.

Mathew 4:17, “ From that time on Jesus began to preach, ‘Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.”

Luke 24:46-48, “ …..and repentance for the forgiveness of sins will be preached in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.”

Isaiah 30:15, “This is what the Sovereign Lord, the Holy One of Israel, says, “In repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength, but you would have none of it. “

Second step is a ‘right motive’ to come into His Holy Presence.

Third step is a ‘right relationship with God’. Have you ever noticed that how in need we run to God and in happiness we postpone our prayer times, forgetting the very fact that because Of His grace ‘our happy times are’. That’s because we always keep God away from our personal lives and run to Him with our begging bowls only when we are desperate and know that no one has the power or ability to change our miserable situations apart from God. Why come to a stage like that?

Only He has the power to heal you completely of all your sicknesses, deliver you from your worst foes, and supply all your needs. But if you ask me, in His presence I don’t feel the need for anything else. I am complete in Him.

“My heart exults in the Lord,

My horn is exalted in the Lord

My mouth derides my enemies

Because I rejoice in your Salvation” (1 Samuel 2:1-10).

Another crucial step we can make in being genuinely closer to God is “ understanding the importance of the SECRET PLACE”.

As discussed earlier, we find the biggest hypocrites ( the former category ) praying in public, or taking the name of God according to their own whims and fancies ( which is not only considered blasphemy, but also God has no respect for such people and their vain prayers).

God respects prayers done in ‘secret’. Because in secret, we are truly connected to God, and unburden our worries and confusions and seek help for our faithlessness. And in secret He strengthens us. In His Holy presence, we dispense our false fronts, we are teachable and encouraged.

But when you pray, go into your most private room, and closing the door, pray to Your father who is in secret, and your Father who sees in secret will reward you in the open” Mathew 6:6.
So do not get carried away when you see people claiming to be praying with long face, and taking the name of God every now and then. Because God doesn’t need those kind of prayers.
All that matters is your relationship with God.
