The Lord gives the word( of power), the Women who bear and publish (the news) are a great host (Ps 68:11)

Women have been given great power and authority from the beginning in the scriptures. Not only are they helper and companion to their husbands, but also many women were women of great faith and virtue. Sarah and Rahab were women of faith recorded in the book of Hebrews 11.

“And Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a timbrel in her hand, and all the women went out after her with timbrels and with dances. And Miriam answered them, Sing ye to the Lord, for He hath triumphed gloriously, the horse and his rider hath He thrown into the sea ( Exodus 15:20,21) ( Miriam led many women to worship the Lord, by singing praises)

Mary was a women of great faith. In olden days, she simply obeyed the plan of God (Luke 1:26-38) . It needed great courage on her part to obey God and allow birth of Jesus.

Too many ladies in the Old Testament had beautiful anointing over their lives and they turned out to be some best leaders and inspirations to many who were to come in faith later.

Ps 68:11 records ‘The Lord gave the word”, for the mass of women organised for warfare that published it.

Yes, women play the most important role in their homes too. Without their love families cannot flourish. Their children need them, their husbands depend on them. “She comforts, encourages and does him only good as long as there is life within her” ( Proverbs 31:12)

In fact proverbs 31 describes a women of God simply as a multitalented, multifaceted intelligent and a virtuous women who could be trusted with almost anything. God gave such importance to her. In God’s eyes, He was never partial towards men. He gave almost equal importance to Women. Though God knew, a man can’t raise a child the way a woman can. So women carried added burdens and responsibilities, not only of being helper to their husbands, but also expected to be great mothers, friends, inspirations to all as well as an equal partner in ministry.

“And it shall come to pass in the last days, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your Sons and Daughters prophesy, even on my servants, both men and women(Acts 2;17, 18)

Probably people couldn’t interpret the scriptures with a broad mind till so far, and there had been incidents of opposition towards ladies in ministry. Correct (Unbiased and mature) interpretation is required from all (men and women).

Before identifying our respective roles in mInistries , we need to consider a few more scriptures.

The Church is the bride of Christ. Paul says, “ I am jealous for you with a Godly jealousy. I promised you to one husband, to Christ, so that I might present you as a pure virgin to Him” (2 Corinthians 11;2). Interestingly, Church is related to Christ, in a way God the Son is related to God the Father.

The way Christ has dominion over Church, God the Father has dominion over God the Son, a husband has been placed over a woman, as an authority. Now, today’s feminist world might take it as being looked down. They question why an authority over her head when she is independent and mature enough to decide for herself?

Truth is, a woman is truly liberated and empowered when her husband stands next to her , just the way, Christ stands firm next to His church, or ‘body of Christ’ .

Apostle Paul told Christian wives to obey their husbands. “submit yourselves unto your own husbands as unto Lord (Eph 5:22). This doesn’t mean we are inferior to our men, rather its very beautifully signifying that there is One Man, who is loving us, respecting us, supporting us in all our endeavours. It also describes the beautiful relationship of God with man and woman.

We are truly empowered and effective in our ministerial roles, when we know for sure that our men stand next to us and God stands next to both of us, blessing us, leading us, guiding us and as His promise says (genesis 1:28) , “be fruitful, multiply and replenish the earth, and subdue it, and have dominion”.

God loves us women
The powers He gave us:—
1) “heart of her husband trusts in her confidently” ( Proverbs 31:11) – a confidante
2) ‘She seeks out wool and flax and works with willing hands( proverbs 31:13)- a hardworking woman
3) ‘she considers a new field before she buys or accepts it ( proverbs 31:16)- describes a strong sense of business skills
4) ‘she opens her hands to the poor (proverbs 20)- a benefactor of poor with a compassionate heart
5) “her children rise up and call her blessed’ (proverbs 31:28)- She is a great homemaker too
And
6)Give her of the fruit of her hands, and let her own works praise in the gates ( of the city) (Phil 4:8)- God has already blessed her with so many talents. She can handle ministry work too, simply if her husband is leading her and encouraging her and supporting her with love and honour. She simply needs her husband to lead, that it may help her to identify her role as a Gospel Minister, and be blessed in her work.

So all the beautiful ladies out there, who are equally passionate (like me)about saving souls with God’s word , equip yourselves with God’s love and allow your men to lead as Christ leads him to lead you, love you and honour you. Be blessed, be fruitful as our Loving heavenly Father says
