Watered
We had been travelling for a while now. Its always been a passion for me, to learn and explore more about different cultures, and at the same time watch the beauty God has created all over.
“How many are your works, O Lord! In wisdom You have made them all; the earth is full of Your Creatures(Psalm 104:24)”
Watching the beautiful countryside, lifestyles of people in villages( though I couldn’t imagine myself living that kind of life, since we are so used to living in certain ways, dependence on our wi-fis and phones). But it was quite educative to know that people do live like that and are still happy and content in their small little world.
As we were driving cross country, I was observing, how the climate conditions of that particular city or state, were affecting the flora and fauna of that area. We crossed the arid regions of Rajasthan belt too. I was very disappointed to see the trees all ‘thorny’, long stretches of desert, soil was burning for lack of water. Only glimpses of mirage playing hide and seek, no green grass anywhere to be found, dogs were very skinny and many dead animals were lying by the road side. I assumed lack of water and moisture and lack of food must have caused such misery to those hapless animals. The land looked somewhat like this picture below.
Picture – A
All that could and can survive on that kind of land, were camels. ’ship of the desert’.
Then as we entered Punjab, my heart took a leap of joy, as I saw prosperous agricultural fields, greenery all around, bountiful harvests all around, well tilled soil, beautifully maintained lands, fields overflowing with prosperity. I felt peaceful within. This is how it looked .

All of a sudden I felt as if Holy Spirit was speaking to me and leading and guiding me with His kindness and pearls of wisdom. Spirit of the Lord was showing me, how much He fills me with His mercy and His peace everyday, that I never feel ‘lack of spiritual water and moisture’ while facing everyday of my life. I felt in my heart that had it not been His mercy upon me, I would have been equally dry and moisture less like these arid regions. Its His mercy upon me that keeps me ‘watered’ always. Since He showers His grace upon me forever, the world sees me as picture B. Its His abundance and His eternal Covenant with me that keeps me abundant, prosperous and joyful forever. “Christ is in me, the hope of Glory(Colossians 1:27)”
As the scriptures say
1)Psalm 35:27 “Let them shout for joy and be glad, who favour my righteous cause, and let them say continually, “ Let the Lord be magnified, who has pleasure in the prosperity of His servant”.
2)Genesis 12:2-3) (God said to Abraham). ”I will make you a great nation. I will bless you and make you famous and you will be a blessing to others”
All who had been obedient to His words, have always been prosperous. History records in Genesis13:2, Abraham was a very wealthy man in livestock, silver and gold.
Genesis 13:5, Lot was travelling with Abraham and was very wealthy too. They were all rich because Lord was ‘watering them”, watering their finances, their minds, their emotions, their relationships, their health and so on.
Surprisingly there is much to learn from nature for us humans. When we lack peace, our minds and hearts are filled with negativity and bitterness. Our mouths are profane and all we do is bring people down, break their spirits with harsh words, use abusive language, get thrills in our lives by gossiping about others, and conspire together against people or look for ways to hinder their prosperity. And we fail to realise that the ‘World sees us as the picture A’. But when we are filled with peace, inner joy and kind words in our mouths, ‘World notices us and sees us as Picture – B’.
“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled(Mathew 5:6)”.
Today I pray for all those people who are secretly hurt and bitter, that may my Lord fills you with peace and His love, that you can confidently be joyful and positive forever. Let Us look like picture ‘B’ to the world and not like picture ‘A’
“Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God(John 14:1)”
“Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in Heaven(Mathew 5:16)”
Blessings!
