“Dry and Moldy”
“The Mighty One, God, the Lord, speaks and calls the earth from the rising of the sun to its setting (Psalm 50:1)”
Out of Zion , the perfection of beauty , God shines froth.” (Psalm 50:2))’
For everything is by Him, in Him and through Him.
Recently we had thrown a party. Many gathered and enjoyed. We all had a good time since , we had time of fellowship too. Once all left, there were few leftover bakery stuff lying on my table. I thought of storing them in the fridge, but somehow it slipped out of my mind. When my maid shifted them from my dining table to our cabinet, no clue.
Next couple of days were extremely busy. Thought of bread was nowhere even at the back of my mind.
It was already three days before I remembered those breads. But now it was already three days after the party, and they were already dry and moldy .
That point of time, there was no other way of preserving them but throw them off.
A thought flashed my mind. Isn’t our life similar too? Aren’t we equally dry and moldy when away from Lord’s presence? We lack moisture of love from God. We lack direction and focus as well. We are of no good if we are spiritually not mature. Not for self, neither for others.
Especially in my personal journey with my Lord, I remember the days I couldn’t fellowship with Him, I was mostly snappy, irritable and unreasonable. I wasn’t exactly how a ‘vessel’ of God should be. My irritable nature was irritating others around me too. Basically there was lack of peace. Whereas, in the presence of God, there is only peace, comfort and love.
The way we need to feed our bodies daily, we need to feed our souls and spirits too. Our emotions are directly connected to God’s love. If we aren’t right with Him, if we have been away from His presence for a while, we aren’t emotionally healthy either. We aren’t what we are supposed to be.

We need to be in fellowship with God all the time. His presence in our lives are like umbrellas. The way an umbrella protects us from rain and sun, similarly God protects us from all evils of life. When we are under His grace, we are kept safe under His mighty huge wings. But the moment we are away from his presence, Satan and his powers become super active and we are vulnerable too.. Satan creeps in our lives through our minds and emotions first, and if we aren’t careful enough to go back to God instantly (seeking Him and His guidance), you will realize that our simplest follies turn into major issues in life. Satan ensures our harsh words( If we have been away from God too long, and lack spiritual wisdom and are snappy and irritable) break relationships and hearts and the damages could be fatal and irreparable.
Book of Joshua 9:12, mentions that the bread has become ‘dry and moldy’.
Being busy in life is good, but if our ‘busyness’ is keeping us from fellowshipping with God, it isn’t a very healthy lifestyle. More we spend time seeking ‘His Face’, more He fills us with wisdom. More we are emotionally healthy which in return helps in building people and relationships and bring much peace in our life as well as other’s lives.
No matter how busy your schedules are, make an effort to read His words) everyday, and spend some time at least in His Holy presence. As we spend time in prayers, and meditating on His words, wisdom fills us and we have a right attitude towards life.

“O invincible God, Creator of the Universe, how admirably you deal with us! How sweetly and kindly you act towards your chosen ones, to whom you offer yourself to be received in this Sacrament! It is beyond our human understanding!”
Prayer
“God I pray may I be able to spend more time reading your words daily. Give me wisdom to grasp them well and help me to bear much fruit as your words take root in my heart. May my life and words reflect You.
Amen!”
